It was a gloomy day.The weather outside was soo gloomy and so was my mood.Lying on the couch,I was trying hard to concentrate on the TV,when my sister comes down suddenly,with a stern look on her face.She yells at me, "When r u going to courier the documents????Its already half past two"...( Well her countenance irritates me )..okay!!!
I shoot back a dirty look on her and say,"Hey stop shouting...Am just going".
Reluctantly I pick the keys and stroll outside.The clouds were setting in and it was just about to rain cats and dogs.Its ok...I say to myself...I did'nt mind getting drenched,if that could help me exspunge the bitter things going in my mind!!!
I start riding the scooter,and the same bitter memories loom in my mind...( "Hey why..what went wrong??? Why me always...?? Why am I soo stupid"-I was self pitying me), I just forget that I'am on the road and the scooter had already shifted from the left side of the road to the right side.
It was only then I realise that I was in the verge of having a Head On Collision with a car.With great difficulty I get the breaks in control and get the scooter to a halt and so did the driver of the car!! (Its India and u know how people react to such nuisance). Passers by,stop to shout at me,they curse me.....I smile back at them sheepishly!!!
And once again I start the engine,reach the courier office,this time I had my complete presence of mind on the road.I courier the documents and finally reach home Body INTACT...!!!!
I curse myself for my APATHY and CLUMSINESS on the road.I would'nt have minded the collision ,If my system had to end immediately,but otherwise....."A scared face or an amputated leg or hand or broken ribs"!!!! I shuddered at the thought of it!!!!
